The next time I fly, I’m going to be ruthless. I’m not going to talk to anyone who isn’t nice. Why is this? Because last time I flew, I found myself being nice to Daily Mail readers.
This delightful pair were slightly to the right of Ghengis Khan and somewhat less liberal in their viewpoint than Margaret Thatcher, and I was, I am ashamed to say, cordial and polite to them. This will not happen again.
I don’t think you should e ashamed that you acted polite and cordial. You should be down right amazed that you acted polite and cordial.
I thought the only cordial you were aware of came in bottles.
Good Lord, you’re right. I thought I was the only one who actually _despised_ the Daily Mail. No politics but the current bandwagon and unable to agree even with themselves. I’ve always wondered how a paper as semi-decent as the Standard manages to share the same stable. Viva la Independent.
Whatever the ideological bent of your fellow travellers, it sounds like your next flight will at least (have) land(ed) you in much better things. Good luck, and make sure you get hold of another Zed across there…
