The reason corporate megaliths- especially telecoms ones- are able to screw us, the consumer massive, so badly is simply that we expect them to do so. If you yell and scream at them when they screw up, you will get much better service, and in time these efforts will cost them so much as a remediation that they make them the default for everyone.
And who doesn’t want that? Well, the corporate megaliths, obviously, but screw those guys. They already have enough billions of dollars.
